We Did It!!!!

We made it through our first T-ball game! Chris had a great time and is actually getting a hang of the rules, etc. that go along with really playing! He hit some really great balls - one went past first base and he even was able to scoop a ball or two. He played in the outfield for most of the game but that's where he wanted to be - just in case someone hit a homerun! :) Here are some pictures of his game tonight:

While Chris was playing T-ball, Daniel was playing around on the basketball court that is close by and running around having a great time! At one point he made it to first base...I guess in case they needed a pinch runner! :) He even attempted to throw a T-ball into the basketball hoops on the court.
We have a full week ahead of us - playgroup tomorrow, T-ball on Thursday, hanging out with friends on Friday and possibly everyday for the rest of the week!!!! Gotta love summer! The boys have been staying up later and we've been enjoying our time together! As for Greg and I, nothing is really new! He is still going to work and we have been having a great time in the evenings!
Keep checking in with us and I will try to keep updating things!

New Rooms!

Ok...not the most creative title to a post but I'm stumped for anything more creative!

We redecorated the boys' bedrooms this weekend (with help from some stores in good old St. Louis) and they look great in my opinion! Chris decided that he would like to have balls in his room and have a sports theme instead of the cars/trucks/tractors that he had before. Greg and I decided we were fine with that since he hasn't really been into cars a lot lately...he's definitely been more of a sports/outdoors kind of a kid for a while now.

So we rearranged his furniture a little and added some wonderful ball wall stickers that we found in St. Louis and a new comforter and VOILA! A new room! He is loving it...here are some pics:

This is a pic of Daniel's room with the furniture rearranged. His room also now has some of those cool wall stickers on it....with Elmo! We were in Walmart and discovered that they now carry the ones that are on Chris's walls plus a whole bunch more! When Daniel saw the Elmo ones he went a little goofy!!!! I think it's great that he really loves Elmo...what's not to love???? :) So imagine his room with a couple of Elmo's on the wall! :) I took the picture before we found the wall images...

And finally, here is a picture of my scrapbooking area in the basement. We have finished one part of the basement (thank you everyone for all of your hard work - we love it!!!!) The rest of the finished room has a couch, TV and the kids toys...but this area is all mine!!!!

One final note - Chris's first T-ball game is tomorrow night!!!! We are very excited! I will post pictures once we have them!
Thanks for stopping by!

First T-Ball Practice EVER!

Tonight was Chris's first ever T-ball practice! It went pretty well considering he had never done anything like that before! :) At first the coach had them practice throwing the ball back and forth with another kid and Chris is fortunate enough to be on a team with two kiddos from his preschool class. He and his friend buddied up to play catch and they had a great time throwing the ball to each other and everywhere else around them!

Then they went ahead and started playing on the field and batting. Chris had a blast! He doesn't quite get the rules yet but we are definitely on the right track. He got to play on first base and in the pitcher's spot tonight while other kids covered second, third and shortstop. Everyone got a chance to practice batting and playing a couple of positions. Here are some pictures from practice...

Chris getting ready to throw the ball to another teammate: Chris's coach showed him how to stand and hold the bat before he actually got to hit the ball!

After a while, one gets tired of standing up! Chris did end up picking some weeds while things were going on around him...including a ball coming for him and him not even realizing it!

Fielding another ball...

While all of this was going on, Daniel got to play outside with some friends of his whose older brothers and sisters were playing t-ball! Daniel thought this was the best part of the night! He saw some kids from his babysitter's and from our neighborhood but he really enjoyed just running from daddy!

We have another practice tomorrow night and then games every Tuesday and Thursday for the next 4-5 weeks (I will have to look at the schedule to know for sure!). They think the best way to learn to play t-ball is to actually play and Chris is very excited about this! They play 4 innings or for an hour, no kids are tagged out, everyone gets a chance to bat and the kids all get a chance to play in different positions. It seems like it will be a great ball season for us (as long as there are weeds in the field, Chris will be happy!) I will get more pictures up once they get their shirts and the games begin!

Preschool Celebration/Graduation

Tonight was a wonderful celebration at Chris's preschool for the kids who are going on to Kindergarten. The kids sang some songs and danced a little dance for us and then they went to the nap room to put on their caps. The kids who are moving on to Kindergarten wore orange hats and the kids who are staying at the preschool wore black hats (much to Chris's delight!). Chris is sad that his buddies are moving on to Kindergarten (only 5 of the 19 kids in his class are staying next year) but is thrilled to be the "big kid" at the preschool next year!

Here is a picture of Chris in his cap at the celebration:

Daniel is feeling much better these days and is back to his normal spunky self! :) We have made it a habit to tackle mom and dad to the ground at least once a night, give many kisses and wave hello or goodbye to any number of people! We still aren't saying any words but he sure manages to make sure we know what he wants!
Hope everyone is having a great day (only 2 more days of school left till we get the summer together!) and we will talk with you soon!

Another Sunday at Home!

Today was just another Sunday around here! Church, Sunday School, lunch, Wal-Mart, etc.

Chris did have a birthday party to go to today for a little friend of his! He was very excited as he got to take his bike to the party! He had a great time! We then ate dinner and played outside with WATERBALLOONS! The boys had a fun and we went through about 50 water balloons in about 5 minutes because some neighbor kids came over to join in!

Daniel participated in everything (except for the party) but he's not feeling quite up to par. He is slowly getting over an ear infection which we are hoping is due to allergies and nothing more!

On another note, there are only 3 days left in the school year so that means in just a couple of days I will be able to be home with the boys all the time! I can't wait...we have a lot of things to do this summer...visit family, play with friends, paint, and so much more!

Other than all of that, nothing new but we appreciate you checking in with us! More pictures will be coming soon!

Sprinkler Fun!

Well, this weekend was absolutely gorgeous and we took full advantage of it! We hung a porch swing (my Mother's Day gift), planted some plants, repotted other plants, and played in the sprinkler!!!! The boys had a blast and we met a lot of people around the neighborhood that we hadn't had a chance to meet yet. There are tons of kiddos running around here and I'm having a hard time keeping them all straight! This is of course a wonderful thing for the boys and for us!

Here are some pictures of the boys playing in the sprinkler. Anyone who knows Chris, knows that he is not a big fan getting his face wet but check this out:

Daniel also had fun - although it took him a while to get used to the idea of water shooting up at him from the ground! :) Once he got the hang of it though he tons of fun!

Here are a couple of other pictures from our fun afternoon! Thanks for looking!

Picture of the Boys

Here is a picture of the boys on Easter. I will try and get some more up as soon as I can!

Welcome to our Blog

We decided to start a blog to keep our family and friends informed of what is going on in good old Kirksville. We are doing well up here and just to catch everyone up here is where we are now:

*Nicole is working as a fourth grade teacher.
*Greg is working as a web designer at Truman State.
*Chris is in preschool and is LOVING it!
*Daniel is walking and starting to talk - which is good and bad (he is very opinionated).

Please message us and let us know you are out there and keep checking back for updates...
