Disney: Day 1

I've been debating on how to post pictures and details of our trip to Disney World....and I've decided that day by day may be the best way to go about it! :) Here it goes! This may take me several days to complete as I still have to unpack, do laundry, etc....but it will get posted! :) Not only that but weeding through the over 900 pictures I have on my camera and wishing I had the couple hundred (I don't know an exact count!) of pictures on my father-in-law's camera will take a little time!

BUT here is Disney: Day 1....YAY!

When we arrived on Disney property and checked into our hotel, it was easy to see how excited the kids were! They were checking everything out in the hotel room, claiming areas for their stuff, discussing with their Grandma and Grandad who was sleeping where and how they were going to rotate the boys back and forth, etc.! Once we got settled a little, we decided to head off to the parks! Magic Kingdom was our destination and we could not wait! :)

Once we arrived at the Magic Kingdom, it was hard to contain our excitement! Daniel was jumping up and down because in the distance he could see the castle!!!!! :) We got there right around 4:45 and they were getting ready to take the flag down at the end of Main Street so we hung out around there and watched the ceremony...it was very neat! We then headed down Main Street towards the castle!
And of course, we stopped to take pictures in front of it! Daniel was in awe the whole time!!!! In fact, every time we walked by the castle he would shout "LOOK! There's a castle!" I love three year old excitement!
While posing in front of the castle, we were just in time to watch the Block Party that was going on! :) There were characters on floats, dancers in the street and lots of great music and fun going on all around us! :) FUN!We then went to the Haunted Mansion (which Daniel refused to ride!) and then on to It's a Small World (which all three kiddos LOVED!). Then it was time for dinner! We went to the Crystal Palace for dinner with Pooh and Friends! It was a yummy buffet with plenty of fun and best of all we got to see our first characters of the trip!

Kate's first encounter with a character...she actually took to Piglet ok! :) As the week went on though she gradually grew more skeptical of the characters....but she oooh'd and aaaah'd at the ones at the Crystal Palace everytime she saw them walk by!

Meeting Eeyore and Pooh Bear! :) We also met Tigger at this character meal! All four signed the kids autograph books as well!

Right before going to dinner, I went and picked up Kate and Daniel's mouse ears that we had their names put on....Daniel wore his off and on for a couple of days but Kate was very particular about hers....she just plain didn't want to wear it! This is the best picture I have of her wearing her mouse ears!!!!

After dinner, we went outside and found a spot to watch the fireworks display...at night the castle starts turning all kinds of neat colors! We all loved to watch it change!

It was a great first day at Disney!!!!! We rode a couple of rides, had fun taking in Main Street, ate dinner with some pretty cool dudes and at the end of the day we got to celebrate with some fireworks!

Up next....Day 2 at Hollywood Studios! :)
